How to use Twitter more efficiently.

Tweets: Short, Sweet and Often
• Use a URL shortener like bit.ly to keep
hyperlinks within your 140 character limit
• Visual content is key for engagement
• Tweet often, around 4-6 times a day
• Tweet about industry news and topics, and
talk about what’s going on outside the
   company, as well as inside

Retweets: Wish I Said That
• Retweets are a great way to gain followers
• When you retweet an account, the user is
   notified

Follows: You follow them, they follow you
• Gaining followers is a key to success
• Follow influencers. Engage with them by
responding to or retweeting their posts
• Be sure to follow protocol and put RT@
   username before the copied tweet

Reply: Tweet back
• Replies are essential for engaging your
audience. Reply to blog posts, news
   stories, photos, videos, and anything
   related to your field
• Like retweeting, replying to relevant tweets
is a great way to stay involved. It’s also a
great way to gain followers and interact
   with influencers in your field

#: Not Just the “Number Sign”
• Using hashtags that are relevant to your
business can help you to gain followers in
related fields and allows people with
similar interests to see your tweets when
   searching the hashtag

Direct Messages: Professional and Private
• Private messages can be used to exchange
   contact information with influencers in
   your field

Lists: Form Your Feed
• When you have a lot of different
categories of followers, lists come in
   handy.
• Community members, businesses,
friends, influencers, and others can be
separated and put into different lists to
keep your Twitter feed organized and
   relevant

Favorites: Save and Share
• Favorites are like saving a tweet, or ‘liking’
   something on Facebook. Share Favorites
such as blog posts, photos, and videos
   relevant to your business
• When you Favorite someone’s tweet, they
will be notified. It’s just another way to
keep your name relevant and connect with
   followers
